To the editor: On Nov. 28, President Trump ripped on Gov. (Tim) Walz on “Truth” Social calling him “seriously retarded.” He accused Walz of “allowing an influx of Somali migrants to take over his “once great state.” describing Somalia as a “hellhole” country that is “filthy, dirty, disgusting and ridden with crime.” Trump claimed “Somalian gangs are roving Minneapolis streets while Minnesotans stay locked in their apartments and houses” Statements quickly proven false and deemed racist. To the editor: Reading what Speaker Mike Johnson, Speaker of the House, said this morning about this year’s National Defense Authorization Act made me cringe…and wonder what is happening to our country. I believe we should be diligent in the battle against drugs; but, I don’t think that means becoming a ‘police state’.  Control should be done, civilly, at our borders and ports of entry… not by invading, or threatening to invade other countries. To the editor: I’ve been trying for a year to catch the attention of First District Congressman Brad Finstad.  I’ve called all of his district offices, leaving voice messages and messages with his phone answerers.  Ditto for his Washington DC office. Twice I have been hung up on.  Never have I gotten a callback I’ve tried social media,   I live in District 1, so he is supposedly representing me.  How can he represent me if he won’t talk to me? To the editor: Pete Hegseth, like so many of Trump’s nominees for top government posts, was and is wholly unqualified for the job for which he’s been entrusted.
