SESM 74, BLHS 46
SLEEPY EYE -- Knights freshman Madison Mathiowetz scored her 1,000th career point on Tuesday as Sleepy Eye St. Mary's defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Tuesday in a Tomahawk Conference girls' basketball game.
Mathiowetz scored 36 points and had eight rebounds and three steals. Her final point of the contest was her 1,000th point. Sydney Windschitl had 18 points and six steals for the Knights.
Sarah Kottke scored 27 points for BLHS.
St. Mary's (18-7, 12-4) will play at Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial at 6 p.m. on Friday.
Cathedral 74,
Nicollet 70
NICOLLET -- New Ulm Cathedral defeated Nicollet on Tuesday in a nonconference girls' basketball game.
Heidi Hoffman led the Greyhounds with 22 points, Lauren Franta and McKenna Miling each scored 13 points and Sarah Mohr added 12 points.
Megan Frutiger led Nicollet with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Grace Dehen had 15 points, six rebounds and seven assists. Jill Thompson added 12 points with six rebounds and Hayley Selby scored 10 points and added nine rebounds.
Nicollet (9-15) will host Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton on Tuesday in the first round of the Sub Section 2A South Tournament. Cathedral (11-15) will travel to Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Tuesday in the first round of the Sub Section 2A North Tournament.

Hutchinson 78,
New Ulm 72
HUTCHINSON -- Hutchinson defeated New Ulm 78-72 on Tuesday in a nonconference boys' basketball game.
New Ulm was led by Reece Melby, who had 26 points and five rebounds, Noah Hauge, who had 13 points and seven assists and Braden Zimmerman, who had 12 points.
New Ulm (5-18) plays at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at Le Sueur-Henderson.
Springfield 95,
St. Mary's 70
SLEEPY EYE -- issac Fink scored 39 points and Decker Scheffler had 25 points to lead Springfield past Sleepy St. Mary's on Tuesday in a Tomahawk Conference boys' basketball game.
Nick Labat led the Knights with 22 points and Carson Domeier chipped in 10 points.
GFW 74, Sleepy Eye 71
WINTHROP -- Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthop defeated Sleepy Eye 74-71 on Tuesday in a Tomahawk Conference boys' basketball game.
GFW's leading scorers were Damian Hopp with 25 points, Dominic Heinrichs with 21 points and Johnnie Ambrose with 15 points.
Nathan Walter led Sleepy Eye with 21 points. Also for Sleepy Eye, Kegan Heiderscheidt scored 18 points and Jose Ibarra scored 15 points.
GFW hosts Nicollet at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
Nicollet 74, LP/HT 67
LESTER PRAIRIE -- Nicollet defeated Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity 74-67 on Tuesday in a nonconference boys' basketball game.
Nicollet's Riley Hulke had 22 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds. Also for Nicollet, Shane Stevensen had 19 points and Josh Chadderdon had 11 points.
Nicollet plays on Thursday at Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop.
USC 63, Madelia 54
MADELIA -- United South Central defeated Madelia on Tuesday in a nonconference boys' basketball game.
Ja'Sean Glover led Madelia with 24 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Dain Uhde scored 10 points.
Madelia (7-14) will host Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Friday.
Cedar Mountain 74,
BLHS 38
MORGAN -- Cedar Mountain defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart 74-38 on Tuesday in a Tomahawk Conference boys' basketball game.
Tavi Nelson scored 17 points for Cedar Mountain. Chris Dow scored 16 points and Andre Larsen scored 10 points.
BLHS was led by Braden McColley with 9 points and Phillip Kirtz with 8 points.
Cedar Mountain plays on Thursday at Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton.
