WORTHINGTON — Worthington defeated New Ulm 64-48 on Tuesday in a Big South Conference boys’ basketball game.
New Ulm was led by Reece Melby, who had 11 points and 11 rebounds and Ashton Hames, who had 11 points and nine rebounds.
New Ulm (3-12) plays at 7:15 p.m. on Friday at St. Peter.
Springfield 112, Cleveland 39
SPRINGFIELD — Springfield defeated Cleveland 112-39 on Tuesday in a nonconference boys’ basketball game.
Springfield’s Isaac Fink scored 32 points. Decker Scheffler scored 25 points and Jake Rosenstengel scored 13 points.
Springfield (13-2) plays at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at New Ulm Cathedral.
Cathedral 74, GFW 58
WINTHROP — New Ulm Cathedral defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 74-58 on Tuesday in a Tomahawk Conference boys’ basketball game.
Jon Zinniel led Cathedral with 28 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks. Also for Cathedral, Alex Hillesheim had 23 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals and Ethan Kirchberg had 13 points and six assists.
Cathedral (12-2) hosts Springfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. GFW plays at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at Minnesota Valley Lutheran.

SLEEPY EYE — Cedar Mountain defeated Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s in a Tomahawk Conference boys’ basketball game on Tuesday.
Chris Dow led Cedar Mountain with 26 points and Lewis Pendleton had 18 points.
Carson Domeier had 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Knights and Nick Labat had 21 points and nine rebounds.
MVL 72, Sleepy Eye 53
SLEEPY EYE — Mason Cox scored 19 points to lead Minnesota Valley Lutheran past Sleepy Eye in a Tomahawk Conference boys’ basketball game on Tuesday.
Jake Kettner and Dunwa Omot finished with 16 points for the Chargers.
Kegan Heiderscheidt led the Indians with 20 points and Nathan Walter had 17 for Sleepy Eye.

Mankato East 33
MANKATO — The New Ulm girls’ basketball team defeated Mankato East 62-33 in a Section 2AAA matchup at Mankato East.
The Eagles were led by Joey Batt with 29 points and eight steals and Iyanna Wieland finished with 14 points and seven rebounds. Olivia Wick scored 6 points and grabbed five rebounds. The Eagles (14-3) host St. Peter on Friday.

Cathedral 54
CLEVELAND — Cleveland defeated New Ulm Cathedral 66-54 on Tuesday in a nonconference girls’ basketball game.
Cathedral was led by Heidi Hoffman, who scored 20 points and Lauryn Franta, who scored 15 points.
Cathedral (5-12) plays at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at Springfield.
St. Mary’s 68, CM 32
MORGAN — Madison Mathiowetz scored 19 points as Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s defeated Cedar Mountain on Tuesday.
Cassie Heinrichs scored 16 points for the Knights and Trista Smith led Cedar Mountain with 12 points.
Cedar Mountain hosts Madelia on Friday and St. Mary’s hosts Wabasso on Friday.

JANESVILLE — Nicollet defeated Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton in a nonconference girls’ basketball game on Tuesday.
Grace Dehen scored 21 points, had seven assists, and five steals to lead Nicollet.
Jill Thompson had 13 points and 15 rebounds, Hayley Selby had 10 rebounds and Megan Frutiger had 10 points.
Nicollet (4-14) plays at Cleveland Friday.

Josh Seidl scored 3 goals for New Ulm. Shane Esser scored one goal and had one assist, Glavine Schugel had two assists, Landon Strong had two assists and Ethan OConnor had one assist.
Jack Raymond had 26 saves for New Ulm.
New Ulm (10-7-1, 8-3) hosts Hutchinson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
