BLHS 69, Cedar Mountain 52

MORGAN — Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart’s Sarah Kottke scored 50 points as the Mustangs defeated Cedar Mountain in a Tomahawk Conference girls’ basketball game on Thursday.

For Cedar Mountain, Megan Sandgren had 18 points and Emma Schouvillier scored 13.

Cedar Mountain is at Red Rock Central on Friday.

Nicollet 70, GHEC-T/ML 58

NICOLLET — Nicollet defeated Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther in a Valley Conference girls’ basketball game on Thursday.

Grace Dehen had 18 points, eight assists and five steals and Hayley Selby had 14 points and six rebounds. Marah Hulke finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds and Jill Thompson had 9 points and 11 rebounds.

Nicollet (3-13) hosts Springfield on Monday.

LCWM 72, Madelia 37

MADELIA — Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial defeated Madelia in a Valley Conference girls’ basketball game on Thursday.

Sylvia Rodriguez led Madelia with 15 points

GFW 61, Sleepy Eye 49

SLEEPY EYE — Kegan Heiderscheidt led Sleepy Eye with 18 points, but Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop won the Tomahawk Conference boys’ basketball battle on Thursday.

Nate Walter had 12 points and Jose Ibarra scored 11 for the Indians.

Damian Hopp scored 18 points to lead GFW. The Indians shot 11-for-26 from the free-throw line.

Sleepy Eye is at Red Rock Central on Monday and GFW hosts Sibley East on Monday.

Springfield 104, WWG 76

WESTBROOK — Isaac Fink scored 34 points and Decker Scheffler had 29 as Springfield rolled to a nonconference boy’s basketball victory against Westbrook-Walnut Grove.

Mitchell Buerkle had 14 points and Jake Rosenstengel finished with 9 points for the Tigers. Springfield hosts Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Friday night.

Belle Plaine 66,

Sibley East 60

ARLINGTON — Sibley East’s Kameron In scored 19 pints in a Minnesota River Conference loss to Sibley East on Thursday.

NUA goes 2-0 at St. James

ST. JAMES — New Ulm Area won two matches on Thursday at the St. James Triangular. The Eagles defeated Madelia-Truman/Martin Luther 84-0 and St. James 50-25.

Against Madelia-Truman/Martin Luther, the Eagles got pins from Jacob Bertrang (132), John Mehlhop (138) and Avery Hermel (160).

New Ulm also defeated St. James later in the day. Cole Ranweiler earned a pin at 152 and Sean Howk earned a technical fall at 145.
