Sleepy Eye 51, St. Clair 44
ST. CLAIR -- Sleepy Eye's Madi Krueger had 17 points, nine rebounds and four steals as the Indians defeated St. Clair in a nonconference girls' basketball game on Friday.
Paige Romberg scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Indians. St. Clair was led by McKenzie Kruse and Sophie Seys, who each finished with 11 points.
Sleepy Eye (4-6, 0-4 Tomahawk) play at Southwest Minnesota State University on Thursday against Russel-Tyler-Ruthton.
MCW 55, Madelia 19
MADELIA -- Martin County West took advantage of 25 Madelia turnovers and won the Valley Conference girls' basketball game on Friday.
CaleyAnn Clobes led Madelia with 8 points.
MVL 62, MCW 61
SHERBURN -- Dunwa Omot scored 28 points and hit seven 3-pointers as the Chargers defeated Martin County West in a nonconference game on Friday.
Omot also had nine rebounds for the Chargers.
Jake Kettner scored 20 for the Chargers and Mason Cox had 9 points and nine rebounds.
MVL competes in the Kwik Trip Holiday Tournament at Bethany Lutheran College beginning next Thursday. The Chargers open with Mankato Loyola at 6:30 p.m.
St. James Area 68, New Ulm 45
ST. JAMES -- St. James Area defeated New Ulm in a Big South Conference boys' basketball game on Friday.
Caden Hames led the Eagles with 14 points and eight rebounds. Braden Zimmerman finished with 11 points.
New Ulm (2-6) plays Rockford at the St. James Holiday Tournament on Thursday.
