Wabasso 84, Sleepy Eye 28
WABASSO -- Maddy Guetter scored her 1,000th career point for Wabasso in a dominant 84-28 Tomahawk Conference girls' basketball win over Sleepy Eye on Thursday.
Guetter led the Rabbits with 25 points, while Jenna Frank added 13 points and Sarah Franta added 11. The Indians were led by Paige Romberg with 18 points.
Sleepy Eye (1-2, 0-1) hosts Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Tuesday, while Wabasso (1-0, 1-0) is at New Ulm Tuesday.
St. Mary's 64, Cathedral 21
SLEEPY EYE -- Sleepy Eye St. Mary's defeated New Ulm Cathedral 64-21 on Thursday in a Tomahawk Conference girls' basketball game.
St. Mary's was led by Madison Mathiowetz, who scored 20 points and had seven rebounds. Also for St. Mary's, Sydney Windschitl had 16 points and five steals and Cassie Heinrichs had 13 points and five steals.
No stats were submitted by Cathedral.
St. Mary's (3-1, 1-0) plays at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Springfield. Cathedral hosts St. James Area at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

NEW ULM -- Minnesota Valley Lutheran defeated Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton 78-55 on Thursday in a nonconference girls' basketball game.
MVL was led by Abby Riederer, who had 15 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Also for MVL, Lexi Fischer had 14 points, Maddie Pearson had 14 points and four assists and Emma Nelson had 13 points, 11 rebounds and five steals.
Emma Johnson scored 13 points for JWP.
MVL (1-1) plays at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Cedar Mountain.
W/WG 62, Madelia 55
WESTBROOK - Westbrook/Walnut Grove defeated Madelia 62-55 on Thursday in a nonconference girls' basketball game.
CaleyAnn Clobes led Madelia with 18 points, four rebounds and three assists. Sylvia Rodriguez added 17 points and nine steals for Madelia, while Emily Stevensen had 10 points and Alayna DeLaCruz had 6 points, 12 rebounds and two assists.
Madelia (0-2) hosts New Ulm Cathedral at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
