Wabasso 3, MVL 0
WABASSO -- Wabasso defeated Minnesota Valley Lutheran 25-15, 25-11, 25-8 in Tomahawk Conference volleyball action on Thursday.
Jenna Frank had 34 set assists for the Rabbits and Maddy Guetter had 20 kills.
Mara Weisensel had 10 kills and Hannah Marzinski had 14 digs for MVL. Maddy Pearson finished with 16 set assists.
Wabasso (16-4) is at Red Rock Central on Friday. MVL (10-4) hosts Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Thursday.
Madelia 3, USC 1
WELLS -- Madelia defeated United South Central 25-21, 25-22, 20-25, 25-14 on Thursday in prep volleyball action.
Blair Vanzee had 18 kills for Madelia and Jude Frelich had 23 digs. Faith Bergeman had 35 set assists and Caleyann Clobes finished with 17 digs.
Madelia hosts St. Clair on Tuesday.
BLHS 3, GFW 0
FAIRFAX -- Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 25-27, 25-18, 18-25, 21-25 in a Tomahawk Conference volleyball game on Thursday.
For GFW, Hannah Panitzke had 18 kills, 20 digs, and four blocks and Shelby Ramirez had 13 kills. Abby Neuman finished with seven blocks and Miah Busse had 23 digs. Hannah Thorsen had 20 set assists and Jordan Rettig had 18 set assists.
Cedar Mountain 3, St. Mary's 1
MORGAN -- The Cedar Mountain volleyball team picked up its second win of the year on Thursday after topping Sleepy Eye St. Mary's in four sets of Tomahawk Conference volleyball.
The Cougars won 25-22, 28-26, 21-25, 25-22.
Emma Schouvieller had 50 set assists, 16 digs and five kills for Cedar Mountain, while Natalie Lux had 16 kills and 32 digs. Shyann Koupal had 36 digs, five kills and two blocks for the Cougars, while Trista Smith had 51 digs, six kills and three blocks, Megan Sandgren had 11 kills and 13 digs and Nadia Meyers had 12 kills and nine digs.
No stats were reported by St. Mary's.
Belle Plaine 3, Sibley East 1
ARLINGTON -- Belle Plaine won the Minnesota River Conference volleyball match against Sibley East on Thursday 25-17, 22-25, 25-13, 25-17.
For Sibley East, Rachel Rettmann had 12 kills and Morgan Mathews had 20 set assists. Madi Krentz had eight kills, nine digs, and nine set assists.
Girls' soccer
St. Peter 1, New Ulm 0
ST. PETER -- The New Ulm girls' soccer team gave up a second-half goal and lost a Big South Conference match on Thursday.
Kendra Nesvold had nine saves for New Ulm. New Ulm is at Waseca on Saturday.

S/CM competes at YME
GRANITE FALLS -- Springfield/Cedar Mountain competed at the Yellow Medicine East Invite on Thursday.
Freshman Lilly McCone finished in 20:50 to lead the Tigers on the girls' side and junior Mitchell Buerkle finished in 17:14 to lead the boys' team.
MVL competes at Redwood Valley
REDWOOD FALLS -- Minnesota Valley Lutheran's Abby Nelson came in fifth place at the Redwood Valley Invite on Thursday.
Naomi Anderson came in 11th overall for the girls and Dylan Holtmeier came in 24th overall on the boys' side.
Prep girls' tennis
Sibley East 6, New Ulm 1
ARLINGTON -- Sibley East topped New Ulm in girls' tennis action on Thursday 6-1.
Abbey Frauenholtz and Bethany Janssen picked up the lone victory for New Ulm in No. 2 doubles, defeating Hailey Haggenmiller and Teresa Ehrich 6-3, 6-2.
