HUTCHINSON -- Hutchinson defeated New Ulm 61-50 on Tuesday in a nonconference girls' basketball game.
New Ulm was led by Joey Batt and Hannah Osborne, who both scored 13 points.
New Ulm hosts St. Clair at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

MORGAN -- Cedar Mountain/Comfrey defeated Nicollet on Tuesday in a nonconference girls' basketball game.
Lexi Toll had 14 points, 18 rebounds, five blocked shots and five assists for the Cougars. Abby Jemmings added 14 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Erica Bock scored 12 points and she added three assists.
Grace Dehen led Nicollet with 15 points while Sarah Haugum added 14 points.
CM/C (18-6, 10-6) will host Minnesota Valley Lutheran (12-13, 7-8) at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the quarterfinals of the Section 2A, North Subsection playoffs.
Nicollet (12-13, 5-3) will host Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the quarterfinal round of the Section 2A, South Subsection playoffs.
Wabasso 62, MVL 42
WABASSO -- Wabasso defeated Minnesota Valley Lutheran 62-42 on Tuesday in a Tomahawk Conference girls' basketball game.
Wabasso was led by Maddy Guetter, who had 16 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks and Jenna Frank, who had 14 points and five assists.
MVL was led by Emma Nelson, who scored 8 points.
Wabasso plays in the subsection quarterfinals at 4 p.m. on Saturday in Montevideo.

Sleepy Eye 64,
Wabasso 50
SLEEPY EYE -- Sleepy Eye defeated Wabasso 64-50 on Tuesday in a Tomahawk Conference boys' basketball game.
Zach Haala scored 21 points to lead Sleepy Eye. Kegan Heiderscheidt scored 16 points and Ben Laffen had 9 points for the Indians.
Wabasso was led by Tony Franta, who had 16 points and six rebounds. Also for Wabasso, Myles Zeug scored 11 points and Colton Taylor scored 8 points.
Sleepy Eye hosts Mankato Loyola at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Wabasso hosts Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Cathedral 82,
St. Mary's 47
SLEEPY EYE -- New Ulm Cathedral defeated Sleepy Eye St. Mary's 82-47 on Tuesday in a Tomahawk Conference boys' basketball game.
Cathedral was led by Alex Hillesheim, who scored 18 points. Also for Cathedral, Nathan Hauser and Jacob Manderfeld both scored 15 points.
Blake Steffensmeier scored 11 points for St. Mary's.
Cathedral plays at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Nicollet.
St. Mary's (0-22) hosts Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

WINTHROP -- Cedar Mountain/Comfrey defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop in a Tomahawk Conference boys' basketball game on Tuesday.
Eli Samuelson led the Cougars with 18 points and Lewis Pendleton had 17 points. Dylan Hillesheim had 15 points.
USC 65, Madelia 43
WELLS -- United South Central defeated Madelia on Tuesday in a nonconference boys' basketball game.
Ja Sean Glover scored 14 points for Madelia.
Madelia (3-21) will play at Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Friday.

Sleepy Eye 83, Redwood Valley 64
SLEEPY EYE -- Madi Heiderscheidt's 43-point effort helped Sleepy Eye take down Redwood Valley 83-64 on Monday night in nonconference girls' basketball action.
Heiderscheidt also added six steals and three assists for the Indians, who also got 23 points, five steals, five boards and three assists from Brianna Polesky.
With the performance on Monday, Heiderscheidt broke the Sleepy Eye single-game scoring record that was previously held by Cherrie Johnson (1982) with 41. Heiderscheidt also became the Sleepy Eye girls' all-time leading scorer with 1,535 points, passing Claire Krumbach's 1,511 points.
The Indians move to 21-4 on the season and host Luverne at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
