New Ulm Rotary Scholarship Recognition Banquet Monday, March 25

NEW ULM -- The 52nd annual New Ulm Rotary Scholars Recognition Banquet will be Monday, March 25 at the Martin Luther College gymnasium in New Ulm, beginning at 6:30 p.m. This banquet recognizes the academic top 15 percent of the graduating classes for New Ulm Cathedral, New Ulm High School and Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School.

The New Ulm Rotary club also sponsors the "Service Above Self" award and scholarship. This award and scholarship is given at the banquet to one member of each school's graduating class who has demonstrated "Service Above Self" in their attitude in school, the community and their own personal development. Last year's winners were: Sarah Preisinger, New Ulm Public; Truman Pippert, New Ulm Cathedral and Isaiah Koepsell, MVL.

The guest speaker for this years banquet will be Dick Jonkowski, of Shakopee, whose presentation will include humor and a positive outlook on life. Dick is a former PA voice of Gopher football and basketball games.

Advance tickets are available from New Ulm Rotary Club members and at each of the three schools.
