Barn destroyed by fire early Sunday

THIS BARN, owned by George Berg, Route 1, Sleepy Eye, was already destroyed when New Ulm firemen arrived at 1 a.m. Sunday morning. The blaze also destroyed contents, including a tractor, milk cooler, milking equipment, manure spreader, hay, straw, beans and corn. The barn is located at the junction of Brown County roads 24 and 11, 10 miles southwest of New Ulm in Sigel Township. The firemen left the scene at 3:30 a.m. The loss was estimated at about $40,000 by Berg. (Journal Photo by Don Madison)
