JORDAN – The Brownton Bruins opened the Class C Minnesota State Amateur Baseball Tournament with a 4-2 win over the Waseca Braves on Friday night at the Mini Met. Tied at 2-all entering the eighth, the Bruins led off the inning with a walk to Dylan Schwarzrock before a double by Scott Finberg moved him to third. NEW ULM— Region 2C Commissioner Marty Brandl said that there was a new attendance record set this year for the 2C Tournament. The tournament was held at Johnson and Mueller Parks in New Ulm, Riverside Park in Springfield and the Sleepy Eye Baseball Park. “The tournament went really well,” Brandl said. “We had tons of fans and we set a new attendance record with over 4,000 fans.
