Area roundup: Chargers open volleyball season with two wins

PREP VOLLEYBALL MVL 3, BEA 1 BLUE EARTH — The Minnesota Valley Lutheran Chargers moved to 2-0 on the season with a four-set win over Blue Earth Area, winning 25-19, 23-25, 25-22, 25-17 in a nonconference volleyball match. Olivia Hammer led the Chargers with 16 kills and 13 digs, while Jenna Bates had 12 kills, 13 digs, five aces and a block and Graysie Black had 37 set assists, six kills and two aces.
