CEDAR MOUNTAIN GOES 3-2 AT TCU INVITE
MONTGOMERY -- Cedar Mountain finished the Tri-City-United invitational as Silver Bracket Champions after going 3-2 in the tournament on Saturday.
Cedar Mountain defeated Fairmont 25-18, 26-24 before falling to Kenyon-Wanamingo 25-23, 25-18 and Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial 25-18, 25-18 in bracket play. The Cougars then topped Albert Lea 25-23, 25-18 and Fairmont 25-18, 25-23 to finish as Silver Bracket Champions.
Kendra Erickson had 43 kills, 22 set assists and 32 digs, while Reagyn Kleinschmidt had nine kills and mome set assists. Aubrey Steffl had 17 kills and 28 digs, Kendra Lueck had nine kills and Ella Freitag had 42 set assists and nine digs.
Cedar Mountain (8-3) hosts Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Tuesday.
WABSSO FINISHES SECOND AT HOME INVITE
WABASSO -- Wabasso defeated Montevideo 22-25, 25-16, Pipestone 25-19, 25-27 and MACCRAY 25-22, 25-20 before falling to BOLD 18-25, 26-24, 15-12 to place second at its home volleyball tournament on Saturday.
Kenley Guetter totaled 40 kills, 13 digs and seven blocks in the tournament for the Rabbits, while Kylee Samyn had 28 kills and five total blocks. Cassie Bliss had 47 set assists and 12 digs, and Lanna Janerio-Dolan had 43 set assists and three aces. Britta Brand had 30 digs and three aces, and Alexa Remiger had seven aces and 17 digs.
Wabasso (5-6) plays at Springfield on Tuesday.
NEW ULM GOES 1-3 AT JCC
JACKSON -- New Ulm defeated Esterville Lincoln 25-15, 25-22 but fell to Jackson County Central 25-7, 25-22, Martin County West 25-19, 25-19 and Luverne 25-21, 24-26, 15-7 in a prep volleyball tournament at Jackson County Central on Saturday.
Leah Brustad led the Eagles with 29 kills and 11 digs during the tournament, while Abbi Jensen had 16 kills and six digs. Calli Koop had 10 kills and 21 digs, while Mckenna Hulke had 33 set assists, 28 digs and five kills. Mazy Kitzberger added 18 digs and 11 set assists.
New Ulm (7-9) plays at Marshall on Thursday.
