SLAYTON -- The Springfield Tigers rolled to a 40-6 win over Murray County Central on Friday in a Mid-South District, Purple Subdistrict football game shortened due to inclement weather.
The game was called at halftime.
Parker Kuehn threw for 207 yards and five TDs for the Tigers, while Madden Lendt had 134 yards receiving and four TD receptions. Carter Jackson had 81 yards rushing and a touchdown also for the Tigers, while Braxton Brown had 73 yards receiving and a touchdown grab.
On defense for Springfield, Thomas Beers forced and recovered a fumble.
Springfield (2-0) hosts Tracy-Milroy-Balaton on Friday.
ST. JAMES 24, GFW 0
GIBBON -- Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop was shut out by St. James on Friday night in a Mid-South District, Gold Subdistrict football game.
The Firebirds were led by Cayson Gosewich, who had 17 carries for 91 yards, while Mason Lenon had six carries for 40 yards. On defense for GFW, Matthew Lee had nine tackles, while Gosewich had five tackles.
GFW (0-2) is at Mayer Lutheran on Friday.
