NEW ULM 40, AUSTIN 14
AUSTIN -- The New Ulm Eagles opened the prep football season with a dominating 40-14 win over the Austin Packers in a Southeast Central District, Red Subdistrict game on Friday night.
Jeffrey Kral led the Eagles with two TD runs, while Hunter Heil, Owen Castleman and Parker Ranweiler also rushed in a score also. George Gag added a pick six for the Eagles on defense also.
The Eagles (1-0) host Fairmont (1-0) on Friday.
SEU 51, BOLD 13
OLIVIA -- Sleepy Eye United rolled BOLD 51-13 on Friday night in a Mid-South District, Purple Subdistrict football game.
Keeyan Netzke led the SEU ground game with 16 carries for 107 yards and two TDs. SEU quarterback Landry Folkens completed 7 of 8 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown, which went to Carson Uecker, who hauled in five passes total for 126 yards.
On defense, Nick Tauer was in on 18 total tackles, while Elijah Hoffmann had a 46-yard fumble recover for a touchdown.
SEU (1-1) is at Russell-Tyler-Ruthton (1-0) on Friday.
Wabasso 63, BLHS 0
WABASSO -- The Wabasso Rabbits rolled to a 63-0 win over Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Friday night in a Nine-Man South District, West Subdistrict football game.
Rabbits quarterback Drew Kemp completed 10 of 11 passes for 248 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Rabbits, while Joe Rohlik had eight carries for 56 yards and a score. Paxton Huhnerkoch, Nolan Leopold and Brady Baune each added rushing scores. Jack Burns caught three passes for 73 yards and two scores, while Leopold had a 55-yard TD reception and Nathan Riley had a 39-yard TD reception. Caden Frericks led Wabasso on defense with four tackles, 2.5 for loss, and one sack.
BLHS quarterback Carl Markgraf completed 5 of 13 passes for 85 yards, with Wyatt Milbrandt being his top target with two receptions for 67 yards.
Wabasso (1-0) travels to Morgan to play Cedar Mountain (0-1) on Friday.

CATHEDRAL 47, RRC 6
LAMBERTON -- New Ulm Cathedral rolled Red Rock Central 47-6 in a Nine-Man South District, West Subdistrict football game on Thursday.
Alex Portner led the Greyhounds offense with 17 carries for 132 yards and five touchdowns, while Hudson Lieser had four carries for 55 yards and a score. Defensively, Josh Forstner had 12 tackles, while Eli Anderson had four tackles and two interceptions, returning one for a TD. Evan Blekestad had nine tackles and two interceptions, Camden Berg had 13 tackles and an interception, and Ryler Collins had two tackles and an interception.
Cathedral (1-0) hosts Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart (0-1) next Friday in a 4 p.m. game at Johnson Field.
NICOLLET 26, RCW 20
NICOLLET -- The Nicollet Raiders held off Renville County West 26-20 on Thursday in a Nine-Man South District, West Subdistrict football game.
Abe Madson completed 9 of 18 passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Raiders, while Lane Zimmerman had 18 carries for 98 yards. Madson also had a TD run, while Jordan Goettlicher had five catches for 128 yards and a score and Henry Kennedy had three catches for 68 yards and two TDs.
Defensively for Nicollet, Bo Maas had 11 total tackles, while Jordan Laven and Max Kuttner had 10 tackles apiece. Laven, Henry Carleton, Matt Klingerman and Landyn Erickson also each were credited with half a sack, while Zimmerman had a sack, Erickson had a fumble recovery and Lincoln Bode had a fumble recovery.
Nicollet (1-0) hosts Red Rock Central (0-1) on Friday.
MINNEOTA 46, MVL 6
MINNEOTA -- Minneota defeated Minnesota Valley Lutheran 46-6 in a nondistrict football game on Thursday.
Ben Riesgraf had eight carries for 101 yards and a score for MVL, while Chase Tweit had 13 carries for 44 yards and Eli Schauland had eight carries for 33 yards.
MVL (0-1) hosts Le Sueur-Henderson (1-0) on Friday in an 8 p.m. game at Johnson Field.
LQPV 32, GFW 6
LAC QUI PARLE -- Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop fell to Lac qui Parle Valley 32-6 on Thursday in a Mid-South District football game.
Cayson Gosewich had a 10-yard TD run for the Firebirds' lone score of the night. Matthew Lee had 15 carries for 110 yards to lead GFW on the ground, while Gosewich added 18 carries for 67 yards and his score. Lee also led GFW in tackles with four, while Gosewich recovered a fumble.
GFW (0-1) hosts St. James Area (0-1) on Friday night.
EDGERTON 60, CEDAR MOUNTAIN 14
EDGERTON -- Cedar Mountain fell to Edgerton 60-14 on Thursday night in a Nine-Man South District, West Subdistrict football game.
Cedar Mountain was led by Stan Heiling, who had a career-high 177 yards on the ground and two TDs. Ryker Vermillion completed 8 of 16 passes for 38 yards also, while Kayse Haala and Isiah Bislew both had two catches for 18 yards. Bislew also caught a 2-point conversion pass. Heiling and Bislew each had eight tackles to lead the Cougars on defense, while Haala and Isaac Potter each had five tackles.
Cedar Mountain (0-1) hosts Wabasso (1-0) on Friday.
