CEDAR MOUNTAIN 3, ACGC 1
GROVE CITY -- Cedar Mountain opened its season with a 35-16, 20-25, 25-19, 25-18 win over Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City in a nonconference volleyball game on Monday.
Kendra Erickson led the Cougars with 14 kills, 15 set assists and 12 digs, while Reagyn Kleinschmidt had 10 kills and 16 assists. Aubrey Steffl and Grace Guetter each had eight digs, with Steffl adding six kills.
Cedar Mountain plays at Madelia on Thursday.

HUTCHINSON 7, NEW ULM 0
HUTCHINSON -- Hutchinson swept New Ulm 7-0 in a nonconference girls tennis meet on Monday.
The No. 2 doubles team of Eleanor Grathwohl and Edith Albrecht had the most success for New Ulm, taking four games against Adler Nelson and Julia Knorr but falling 6-3, 6-1. At No. 1 singles, Carmen Schotzko lost to Sydney Loe 6-0, 6-3, while No. 2 singles Natalie Fischer fell 6-2, 6-0 to Payton Briggman 6-2, 6-0. Mya Walter took a 6-1, 6-1 win over Avah Kruse at No. 3 singles, while Morgan Gerke defeated Maggie Joyce 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. Kinley Miller and Cate Oberg defeated Brielle Evans and Lilly Rieger 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, while Olivia Mach and Taryn Loe topped Annika Wyffels and Caroline Wunderlin 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 doubles.
New Ulm (0-4) travels to Tri-City United on Tuesday.
