BLUE EARTH -- The Minnesota Valley Lutheran Chargers moved to 2-0 on the season with a four-set win over Blue Earth Area, winning 25-19, 23-25, 25-22, 25-17 in a nonconference volleyball match.
Olivia Hammer led the Chargers with 16 kills and 13 digs, while Jenna Bates had 12 kills, 13 digs, five aces and a block and Graysie Black had 37 set assists, six kills and two aces. Kam Davey added four kills and three blocks, while Taryn Gunderson had 11 digs.
MVL hosts Sleepy Eye St. Mary's on Tuesday night.

ST. JAMES -- The Minnesota Valley Lutheran Chargers opened their season with a 25-14, 25-18, 25-14 sweep of St. James on Thursday night in a nonconference volleyball match.
Jenna Bates led the MVL attack with 16 kills and added 11 digs, while Kam Davey had 11 kills and two aces and Emmalie Fluegge had eight kills and two blocks. Olivia Hammer added four kills, 14 digs and five aces also for the Chargers, while Graysie Black had 34 set assists, five digs, two kills and a block and Taryn Gunderson had 12 digs and an ace.
