MANKATO -- The New Ulm Eagles girls tennis team dropped a nonconference girls tennis meet to Mankato East on Friday, falling 7-0.
At No. 1 singles, Sam William defeated Natalie Fischer 6-0, 6-0, while August Belts held off Carmen Schotzko in No. 2 singles action 7-5, 4-6, 11-9. At No. 3 singles, Lauryn Tischler defeated Avah Kruse 6-4, 6-0, while Lainey Milow defeated Brielle Evans 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.
In doubles action, the East team of Addy Westman and Lexi Mock earned a 6-1, 6-4 win over Lilly Rieger and Eleanor Grathwohl at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, Amelia Hacker and Halee Sadaka defeated Annika Wyffels and Edith Albrecht 6-0, 6-1. Ellie Brielmaier and Melissa Boles defeated Teagan Schmiesing and Ellie Martinka 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 doubles.
The Eagles host Blue Earth Area on Monday.
