NEW ULM -- Brody Nordby has found a hockey home.
Nordby, who graduated from New Ulm High School last year and who had initially signed with Helena of the NA3HL, will be playing this upcoming hockey season with the Hudson (Wisconsin) Havoc of the Tier II the NCDC (National Collegiate Developmental Conference) of the USPHL (United States Premier Hockey League).
"I had a little stint there before my high school season," Nordby said. "And they moved up to the Tier II NCDC this year and their coach invited me back to camp. Good time and good people and a great coach."
Nordby had also looked at teams in Michigan and Winnipeg, Canada.
Nordby said one of the key factors that helped sell him on Hudson was the closer distance to home.
Hudson is two hours away.
"My parents wanted me to go there as well and they can come and watch me play," he said. "Playing Tier II hockey and be able to see my friends and family at the games."
Nordby said that he needs to report to Hudson on September 8.
