ARLINGTON — Cory Probst made a comeback the Jack Pines Resort IMCA Hobby feature as he took the lead on the fourth lap moved up RJ Esqueda and never looked back. He motored around the track showing he hadn’t lost his finesse to win the race. Behind him Wes Jahnz moved up six spots and son Austin moved up six spots to finish second and third.
Alan Lahr led the Coors Light Sport Compact feature from start to finish to win his feature in the flawless race. Justin Schletsche charged his way to the front but had to settle for second while Neil Forsburg took third.
Belle Plaine’s Mark Oestreich led the first half of the Olson Snowplowing and Lawn Care Outlaw feature from his front row start. Oestreich fell back as Rod Manthey and Mike Vogt moved through the field along with hard runner Karl Hewitt. Hewitt took over the top spot on Lap 9 and went on to win the race making it a clean sweep for the night as he won his heat as well. Vogt finished second ahead of Manthey and Oestreich drove past the checkers in fourth.
There was plenty of action in the Arlington State Bank IMCA No. Sport Modified feature, the 2j of Jeff Carter started on the pole and had a great race going with Chris Neisen but wasn’t able to hang on as there were caution flags thrown in Laps 5 and 6 for cars spinning out. After the second caution, Ben Reierson who had started seventh and was able to stay out of troubles was the new leader with Joey Reimers following him to the front. There was another caution thrown when Carter had misfortune and hit the front stretch wall ending his night. On the restart, Reierson again took the lead but Eric Larson was able to pull around Reimers to gain positions. With only a few laps left, he could not catch Reierson as he crossed the double flags first, Larson took second and Reimers took third. Bryan Spaude won a Hoosier tire from the track for finishing sixth in a random draw.
The Rice Companies IMCA Sprint car feature was short on cars but still a great race. Matt Johnson was the Commander in Chief the entire distance charging to the front from his second row start to win the race and pick up his third win of the season. Dad Bill moved up four spots but could not catch Matt and Brett Allen started last and moved into third place after a caution on Lap 9 for the 22 car of Cole Allen.
Another caution free race occurred in the Ottomotive Tire & Repair IMCA Modified feature as Dan Menk led most of the laps until the end when it counted the most. Clint Hatlestad moved up soon to battle with Dan and followed him around the track for 13 laps then made his move as lapped traffic was in play and Menk was the victim. With only two laps left in the race Hatlestad was able to pass Menk to take the lead and win. Menk finished second with Matt Looft taking third. JJ Reimers won a Hoosier tire from the track for finishing sixth in a random draw.
There were three different leaders in the B&B Racing Chassis Stock Car feature. Dave Moriarty shot out of Turn 4 and took the lead but by the following lap, Shaun Bruns was leading the field and then a yellow came out when the 71 of Josh Larsen hit a tire in Turn 2 which ended his night. On the restart, Bruns again took the lead but this time Matt Speckman overtook Bruns by the fourth time around. The two raced side by side for several laps exchanging positions. The cars were fast. As the checkered flags were being flown for Speckman, Matt Looft made a last lap pass to get around Bruns for second. Bruns took third ahead of Dan Mackenthun.
The Jerry’s Home Quality Foods Auto Cross feature saw four different leaders, the first being Mason Bussler in the 6 car. He had misfortunes and fell out with only three laps left in the race. The second leader was Emily McConnell as she and Derik Siefert drove around the track together. By Lap 5, Sievert had taken over the lead and Emily had misfortunes and ended her race in the pit. That opened up opportunities for Nick McConnell as he moved up eight spots and drove around lapped traffic to gain the lead and win. Andrew Klaustermeier followed him and Hannah Buskey stayed out of trouble and took third place.
