NEW PRAGUE 8, NEW ULM 2

NEW PRAGUE — The New Ulm Legion Gold was defeated 8-2 by New Prague on Tuesday in a legion baseball game.

Josh Forstner was 1 for 2 with two RBIs to lead New Ulm, while Jake Finstad had the team’s other hit in the game. Colin Forstner pitched three innings and took the loss, allowing seven hits and seven unearned runs while striking out three.

New Ulm plays at Hutchinson on Wednesday.

VFW BASEBALL

Fairmont 5, Sleepy Eye 2

FAIRMONT — Sleepy Eye fell to Fairmont 5-2 in a VFW baseball game on Tuesday.

Caleb Oscarson took the loss for Sleepy Eye, striking out seven and allowing two earned runs on three hits in four innings. At the plate, Jalen Brandl was 3 for 3, while Anden Braun had a hit and two RBIs.

SPRINGFIELD 4, SLEEPY EYE 3 (8 INNINGS)

SLEEPY EYE — Springfield defeated Sleepy Eye 4-3 in eight innings in a legion baseball game on Monday.

Adiel Trevino earned the win for Springfield, striking out three and allowing no runs on two hits and three walks in four innings. Madden Lendt amde the start, striking out five and allowing two earned runs on three hits and three walks. At the plate, Trevino was 2 for 5 with two RBIs, while Aiden Moriarty had a hit and two RBIs. Lendt added two hits with a triple and two runs scored.

Tyler Mathiowetz took the loss for Sleepy Eye, striking out one and allowing one run on one hit and one walk in one inning. Landy Folkens made the start, striking out six and allowing one earned run on five hits and two walks in 4 2/3 innings. At the plate, Carson Uecker was 2 for 2 with an RBI and a run scored, while Karter Haala had a hit and an RBI.
