Springfield tops Post 510 in six

NEW ULM — Springfield’s Eli Heglund allowed just two hits through six innings and Post 251 took advantage of six Nicollet Post 510 errors as they cruised to a 13-0 win in a DII legion baseball game.

Heglund, who threw just 70 pitches in his stint, struck out seven and walked just two.

Connor Bode took the loss for Nicollet. He was charged with nine runs in five innings.

Ely Streich and Kadyn Anderson each had two hits for Springfield.

Rogan Scriver and Aiden Weisensel had the hits for Nicollet.

Springfield scored four runs in the top of the second on four hits and three Post 510 infield errors with all runs unearned.

Springfield upped the lead to 7-0 in the fourth on an error and a Streich two-run single.

Anderson’s two run single in the fifth increased the lead to 9-0 before Post 251 pushed three more runs across in the top of the seventh on a wild pitch, an error and a Max Moriaty single.
