NEW ULM — Hutchinson scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning to erase a 6-4 New Ulm lead and went on to top the Brewers 10-7 Wednesday night in a non league amateur baseball game at Johnson Park.
Landon Kurth got the win for the Huskies, allowing one run and striking out seven in relief.
Adam Slander took the loss for the Brewers (0-1) in relief.
He was charged with five runs in three innings of work.
Matt Piechowski had three hits for Hutchinson.
Sam Keckeisen had four hits for the Brewers and three RBI with Cole Ranweiler adding three hits and four RBI including a double and a triple.
The Brewers, who open Tomahawk East League play on Sunday when they host St. James at 5 pm. at Johnson Park, grabbed a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Justin Hoffmann walked and scored on a Ranweiler triple. Ranweiler then scored on a Keckeisen single.
The Huskies pushed four runs across in the second off of starter Keckeisen on RBI doubles from Piechowski and Jake Wendlandt.
But New Ulm answered that with four runs in the bottom of the fifth on a Colton Schaefer single, a fielders choice and a Ranweiler double.
Hutchinson regained the lead in the seventh on three hits and an error for a 10-6 lead.
New Ulm plated a run in the bottom of the ninth on Keckeisen’s fourth hit of the night.
