MLC men’s tennis, track and field teams receive All-Conference awards

ST. PAUL — The 2026 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference women’s tennis awards were released on Tuesday, and Martin Luther College had two of its players named with All-UMAC honors.

Britney Prahl was voted First Team All-Conference, while Emily Gronholz earned Second Team recognition.

Prahl was the No. 1 singles player and led MLC with eight singles victories in her final season with the Knights. Prahl and Gronholz were the No. 1 doubles tandem on MLC’s squad and also led the Knights in doubles victories (7). Gronholz recorded three wins for MLC in No. 2 singles and was highly competitive in most of her sets across the season.

Prahl was named the MLC Individual Sportsmanship winner, while the whole team was awarded the Team Sportsmanship Award. Johannes Bourman was named the MLC men’s tennis Individual Sportsmanship winner.

The MLC men’s outdoor track and field team also racked up 15 All-UMAC selections on Wednesday, while the women’s team received eight All-UMAC awards.

The men’s team put on a show this weekend at the UMAC Outdoor Championships, taking first place by over 50 points, totaling 286.5 points over second-place finisher, UW-Superior, who scored 233.5. For the second consecutive season and in school history, the MLC men claim the top prize.

All-Conference recognition is given to individuals who finished in first, second, or third place in an individual event and to members of relay teams who finished in first place in a relay event at the UMAC Championship.

Jeremiah Stanton earned the Top Scoring Athlete of the Meet award. He scored 44.5 points as he won the 400m hurdles, long jump, and triple jump, placed third in the 110m hurdles, took fourth in the high jump, and was on the second-place 4×100 and 4x400m relay teams this past weekend.

R.J. Perry won the Field Athlete of the Meet award. Perry won the discus throw and the shot put and took second in the hammer throw at the UMAC Championships. His shot put (16.22m) set a new UMAC Championships record.

The MLC men’s coaching staff was also given the Coaching Staff of the Year award after winning first place at the UMAC Championships.

For the women, received eight All-UMAC selections after its performance at the UMAC Championships this past weekend. MLC placed second (151 points) in the conference, just behind Crown College (185 points).

The following individuals were named to the All-Conference team, and the events that gave them a spot can be seen below:

Elena Brauer: Javelin

Sarah Felsing: 3000m steeplechase

Jemimah Habben:3000m steeplechase

Grace Hahm: 5000m

Hannah Rodmyre: 100m hurdles, Triple Jump

Madelinn Romsdahl: Shot Put, Discus

Ella Schlei: Discus, High Jump

Mariah Schultz: 400m hurdles

The MLC women were also voted the Team Sportsmanship Award, while Nicole Trapp was MLC’s Individual Sportsmanship winner.
