MADELIA 15, HERON LAKE 1 (5 INNINGS)
HERON LAKE — Madelia routed Heron Lake-Okabena 15-1 on Tuesday in a nonconference baseball game.
Madelia was led by Noel Davila, who was 2 for 2 with a double and three runs scored, while Miah Garza was 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs, Evan Coil was 2 for 3 with three RBIs and Bryce Borkenhagen was 2 for 4 with an RBI and four runs scored. Brayden Grev got the pitching win for Madelia, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out eight in three innings of work.
Madelia is now 9-0 on the year.
SIBLEY EAST 13, ST. CLAIR 4
ST. CLAIR — Sibley East downed St. Clair 13-4 on Tuesday in a South Central Conference baseball game.
Riley Bussler led the Wolverines at the plate in the win, going 2 for 3 with three RBIs, while Carson Schmidt was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and Nathan Schauer was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Bussler got the pitching win in four innings, allowing one hit and four walks for one earned run while striking out three.
Sibley East is now 6-2 on the season.
PREP SOFTBALL
LCWM 18, MVL 1 (4 innings, Game 1)
LCWM 12, MVL 0 (5 innings, Game 2)
LAKE CRYSTAL — Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial rolled by Minnesota Valley Lutheran 18-1 in four innings and 12-0 in five innings in a South Central Conference softball doubleheader on Tuesday.
Piper Hellekson earned the win for LCWM in Game 1, striking out seven while allowing one run on two hits in four innings. At the plate for the Knights, Nettie Parsons was 2 for 4 with three RBIs, while Avery Voges was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored and Isabella Iverson was 2 for 2 with a run scored.
Kaitlyn Stadick took the loss for MVL, striking out one while allowing 18 runs on 18 hits in four innings. At the plate, Sophie Dalueg had a hit and an RBI, while Caitlyn Kock added a hit.
Parsons got the win in Game 2 for LCWM, striking out six while allowing one hit in five innings. At the plate, Kylee Hall was 2 for 3 with two RBIs and three runs scored, while Callie Mueller was 2 for 2 with two RBIs. Sydney Kramer was 2 for 2 with an RBI and a run scored.
Nora Grace Otto took the loss for MVL, striking out one and allowing 12 runs, seven earned, on 12 hits. At the plate, Otto recorded the lone MVL hit.
MVL (4-5, 2-2) plays at St. James Area on Friday.
