With area golf courses opening for the 2026 season, here is some information about some of the area’s courses.
NEW ULM

COUNTRY CLUB
NEW ULM — The New Ulm Country Club is an 18-hole, Par-71 semi-private course that runs along the Cottonwood River and Flandrau State Park. The 6,200-yard course provides a great test for golfers of all skill levels and there is plenty of scenery along the way.
The course also hosts many tournaments throughout the summer. This includes the Memorial Tournament on May 25, the MLC tournament on June 8, the 65th Invitational on June 13 and 14, the American Cancer Society on June 15, the New Ulm Eagles Boosters Tournament on June 22, the Birdies for Breast Cancer Tournament on June 29, the Club Championship for mens flights (July 8), ladies flights (July 9) and Day 2 Champ and Junior Flight (July 11), the MVL golf Classic on July 13, the B&L Mixer (July 26) and Classic (July 27), the Cathedral Classic (Aug. 3), the Ladies Event on August 20, the Schell’s Bottle Opener (Aug. 30) and Bottle Cap Open (Aug. 31), and the Labor Day Derby on Sept. 7.
Green fees are $25 for nine holes on a week day and $30 on weekends, while 18 holes are $40 on weekdays and $50 on weekends. Junior rates are $15 for nine holes and $30 for 18 holes. Cart fees are $19 per person for 18 holes and $12 for nine holes.
Memberships for single adults are $1,675.13, while family memberships can be purchased for 2,232.81. Associate memberships are 891.21, while young adult memberships are $399.39 and junior memberships are $200. Social memberships are $50. First-year members get a discount.

SLEEPY EYE
GOLF CLUB
SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye Golf Club provides a premium nine-hole course that is well-maintained and located just off of Highway 14 west of Sleepy Eye.
The nine-hole, 2,971-yard course offers a share of challenges, but a fun experience with beautiful scenery will be experienced by golfers along the way.

The current rates are $20 for nine holes and $30 for 18 holes during the week. A weekday second nine will cost $10. Weekend rates are $22 for nine holes and $32 for 18 holes, with a second nine adding $10 to the bill. Cart fees are $10 for nine holes per rider and $20 for 18 holes per rider.
Reciprocity fees are $15 per person for nine holes and $25 per person for 18 holes, which are required even if walking.
There are also Green Fee Specials, which includes allowing golfers the chance to play all day with a cart for $35 on Mondays. Another special gives students ages 16 and under the opportunity to golf nine holes for $9.
If golfing with a member of the course, it will cost $15 for nine holes during the week or $20 for 18 holes. During the weekend, it costs $17 for nine holes and $22 for 18 holes. The second nine cost for both is $5.

The course is also home to the Prairie Greens Bar & Grill, which has over 70 menu items to choose from, and is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday. It is open Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., while Saturday hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

MADELIA GOLF COURSE
MADELIA — The Madelia Golf Course is preparing to open to the public for the season on April 24, with a challenging but fun experience offered on the nine-hole course.
The par-36 course is located along the edges of the Watonwan River and Watona City Park in Madelia just north of the Watonwan County Road 9 exit off of Highway 60.
Green fees are $15 for the first round Monday through Thursday and $10 each additional round. The rates increase to $17 for the first round Friday through Sunday and holidays and each additional round is $10. Junior golf rates per round for those under 16 years of age is $10.
Punch cards offered include 10 punches for $115 and 20 punches for $230.
This year’s memberships include a family membership for $600, single membership for $450, senior membership (65+) for $400, junior membership (ages 19-24) for $250 and student membership (ages 18 and under) for $125. Pull cart costs per round is $5, with a trail fee per round of $5 and an annual trail fee costing $100.
Cart rentals for the first round cost $20, with each additional round costing another $10. A valid driver’s license is required to rent a motorized cart. Golf Carts are authorized for use only in the Golf Course area and are not allowed for use in other parts of the Park System.
Cart rentals for tournaments cost $30 for nine holes and $40 for 18 holes.
Some special days during the week include Monday, which sees a per-round cost of $10 from 4 p.m. to close. Tuesdays is Senior Day (ages 50 and up), with a round of golf costing $13. Friday is Date Nite, allowing couples to get in a $20 round of golf, with a cart rental costing $10.
For your convenience, Madelia Golf Course asks those interested in scheduling a tee time to please call 507-642-3608. They also ask that golfers arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their start time. Reservations can be made one week in advance. Five-somes will be allowed to play at the discretion of the Club House staff.

SPRINGFIELD
GOLF COURSE
SPRINGFIELD — Springfield’s golf course is a nine-hole course located along the Cottonwood River on the south edge of Springfield. Built in 1956, the course offers a challenging golf experience with tight fairways and mid-sized greens. The course also sports a bar and patio overlooking the ninth green.
The course has several tournaments over the summer, including the Bogey Blast on May 3, the Springfield Invitational Tournament on June 14, the 17th Annual Springfield Chamber Tournament on June 25, the Tiger Pride Tournament on July 18, the Labor Day Triathlon on Sept. 1 and the Ryder Cup on Sept. 13.
Green fees are $20 for 9 holes or $25 for 18 holes daily. Cart rentals are $20 for 9 holes or $25 for 18 holes. For $35, you can play unlimited with a cart on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Memberships are also available, starting at $700 for a single adult membership. Range memberships are $100, while student memberships for ages 18 and under are $200. Young adult memberships for ages 30 and under are $400, while first-year adult memberships are $400. Couples memberships are $800, family memberships are $900, and first-year family memberships are $700.

WINTHROP GOLF COURSE
WINTHROP — A nine-hole course located a few miles south of town, Winthrop Golf Course offers a friendly experience to golfers of any age or experience. The 2,912-yard course has a course rating of 34.1 and a slope rating of 114.
Several tournament will be held at the golf course this year, including a 1-person tournament on May 23, Dicky Bob’s Memorial Tournament on June 15, the GFW Boosters tournament on June 20, the Women’s Breast Cancer Tournament on July 21, Nicollet Legion on July 25, the Ryder Cup on August 19, Club Championships on August 22 and 23, and the Gibbon Reds Tournament on Sept. 19.
Rates are $15 for nine holes or $22 for 18, with half-price green fees on Wednesdays. Cart fees are $11 for nine holes or $16 for 18. The course opens at 8 a.m. daily.
Memberships are also available, starting at $480.94 for individuals, and there are also family memberships available for two ($657.28), three ($746.16) and four (796.22) family members. Junior memberships for seventh- to twelfth-grade and college students are available for $160.31. First-time members will receive a discount.

MAYFLOWER
GOLF CLUB
FAIRFAX — The Mayflower Golf Club opened for its 56th season of golf on April 12.
The scenic nine-hole, par-36 public golf course is set on 160 acres of land, offering golfers of all ages in Fairfax and the surrounding area an enjoyable experience on the links.
The course features the winding Ford Ridgely Creek, mature tree lines and many wooded areas, and it is also complete with a clubhouse and bar & grill.
The Mayflower is open to the public seven days a week and is three miles south of Fairfax, at 46321 County Road 39, and 18 miles northwest of New Ulm. In addition to the nine-hole course, the club offers a driving range, practice green, rentals for golf carts, golf boards, pull carts and golf clubs.
The 2026 rates during the weekdays are $18.63 for nine holes and $27.01 for 18 holes. On weekends, nine holes of golf costs $20.49 and 18 holes costs $29.80. Students ages 9-14 have a reduced rate, $10.24 for nine holes and $15.37 for 18 holes, while ages 8 and under can golf for free. A 12-round, nine-hole punch card costs $200.23.
First-year memberships are available and are $100 off and include discounted rates at six other area courses. Driving range memberships are also available for $150.
For those who live 30+ miles from the course, the Mayflower offers discounted memberships, starting at $385.

BUFFALO LAKE — Located on Lake Allie in south central Minnesota, Oakdale Golf Club is an 18-hole public golf course that os open seven days a week and has been in operation since 1965.
Located 12 miles southwest of Hutchinson, Oakdale also features Chip Shots Grill & Bar, with several food and beverage options available. Oakdale prides itself on its great course conditions, friendly staff and fun and casual atmosphere.
Rates this season from Monday to Thursday are $26 for 18 holes walking or $20 for 9 holes walking. Nine holes with a cart costs $31, while 18 holes with a cart costs $42.
Friday to Sunday rates run as followed: 18 holes with a cart costs $51, 18 holes walking costs $32, nine holes with a cart costs $36 and nine holes walking costs $24. There is a senior special (ages 60+), where golfers can play 18 holes with a cart for $36 from Monday to Thursday. Ages 15 and under with a paid adult can golf for $12 anytime, nine holes or 18 walking, while ages 8 and under are free. Prices listed do not include tax.

NORTH MANKATO — North Links Golf Course is an 18-hole course that offers a traditional, prairie style layout.
It is located west and north of Mankato at 41553 520th Street, North Mankato, and also serves as a wedding or other party venue.
Rates for individual rounds are $39-$49 for 18 holes, with a riding cart available for an additional $17. Twilight rounds after 3 p.m. are $25-$34, with carts available for $10, while nine holes can be played for $23-$27, with carts costing $10 to rent. Weekday senior rates are $28 for 18 holes and $17 for nine holes, while juniors ages 17 and younger can play 18 holes for $20, with $17 to add a golf cart. Nine-hole junior rates are $10 for ages 17 and under, with the standard golf cart rate of $10.
Passes are also available to purchase, with a 10-punch pass of 18 holes priced at $350 and nine holes for $200. An all-day, every-day season pass costs $1,399, while a weekday pass from Monday to Friday costs $999.
