New Ulm gets warm-up win over Fairmont
NEW ULM — The New Ulm Brewers hosted an exhibition game against the Fairmont Martins Monday, a seven-inning tune-up game for both teams as they prepare for their first game of the Class C Minnesota State Amateur Baseball Tournament this weekend.
The Brewers came away with a 3-0 victory in the matchup, with Sam Keckeisen picking up the win on the mound. In the outing, Keckeisen struck out three batters and only gave up a single hit in five innings pitched. At the plate, Zach More had a hit and an RBI, while Colten Schaefer, Andrew Peters and Luke Suess each collecting a hit.
New Ulm will take on St. Boni on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in Green Isle.
