Tigers take down Bluejays in 7-inning TEL game
ESSIG — The Springfield Tigers cruised by the Essig Bluejays 12-2 in seven innings Friday in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game.
The game was called after seven innings due to the 10-run lead rule.
Tyler Dick was the winning pitcher, striking out four while allowing two earned runs on three hits and two walks in four innings. At the plate for Springfield, Aiden Moriarty was 3 for 5 with a run scored, while Ryan Sturm was 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs. Jacob Poehler was 2 for 4 with four RBIs and a run scored, while Madden Lendt was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
Nick Stadick was the losing pitcher, striking out one while allowing seven earned runs on five hits and three walks in 1 2/3 innings. At the plate for the Bluejays, Kyle Helget was 1 for 3 with an RBI and Stadick had a double and a run scored.
Springfield (10-4) hosts Searles on Sunday, while Essig (5-9) hosts Hanska on Sunday.
