NEW ULM -- An 18-point lead for Bethany Lutheran College at halftime continued to grow as it defeated Martin Luther College 94-68 in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference men's basketball game Saturday afternoon.

MLC was led by Ethan Kjenstad's 15 points and five rebounds, while Luke Fix had 14 points and four rebounds. Seth Veers and Thomas Balge each had 11 points and three assists for MLC.

BLC was led by Hunter Nielsen, who had 26 points and nine rebounds, while Drew Sagedahl had 21 points and Jax Madison had 18 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

Until a fast-break dunk by BLC's Mason Ackley, the game was a back-and-forth contest with the score being 17-11 for BLC. After this dunk, the Vikings went on to score 16 of the next 25 points for a 33-20 lead. This caused the Knights to call a timeout with 5:54 left in the half. Coming out of the timeout, MLC's Trey Lauber drove in for a layup which cut the lead down to 10.

That was as close as this game would get as the Vikings would maintain a double-digit lead going into halftime.

The second half was much of the same as BLC led by as many as 27 midway through the half. BLC did not let any comeback tries happen as they went on to win by 26.
