NICOLLET-- Nicollet edged United South Central 65-57 on Thursday in a nonconference girls basketball game.
Cheyenne Klockziem led the Raiders with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Savannah Klockziem added 19 points and 13 rebounds. Leah Bode had 15 points and nine rebounds for Nicollet, while Jazmyn Goettlicher had 6 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
Nicollet (2-4) will host St. Clair on Monday.
SESM 74, Wabasso 25
SLEEPY EYE -- Sleepy Eye St. Mary's rolled by Wabasso 74-25 on Thursday in a Tomahawk Conference girls basketball game.
Natalie Fischer led the Knights with 21 points, 11 rebounds, one assist and one steal. Morgan Mathiowetz scored 20 points with five rebounds, five assists and six steals. Kylie Pelzel added 18 points, six rebounds and one steal.
Avery Carlson scored 8 points for the Rabbits while Sara Carlson added 5 points.
St. Mary's (5-3, 3-1) will play at Cedar Mountain (2-4, 0-1) on Friday. Wabasso (2-5, 0-2) will host Sleepy Eye (7-0, 4-0).
BOYS BASKETBALL
SESM 69, Wabasso 56
WABASSO -- Sleepy Eye St. Mary's defeated Wabasso 69-56 on Thursday in a Tomahawk Conference boys basketball game.
William Walter led the Knights with 27 points and eight rebounds. Jonathan Petermann scored 16 points and George Schwint added 14 points with four rebounds, four assists and five blocks.
Noah Anderson, Tavia Larson and Ashton Rolik each scored 12 points for the Rabbits. Tristan Larson added 10 points.
St. Mary's (5-1, 2-1) will host Cedar Mountain (3-1, 2-1) on Friday. Wabasso (2-2, 0-2) will play at Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop (2-3, 0-2) on Monday.
Mankato East 99, New Ulm 69
MANKATO -- Mankato East downed New Ulm 99-69 on Thursday in a nonconference boys basketball game.
Colton Benson and Nate Firle scored 19 points apiece for the Eagles. James Osborne added 10 points.
New Ulm (2-2, 1-0) will play at Marshall on Friday.
Madelia 61, Cleveland 58
CLEVELAND -- Madelia edged Cleveland 61-58 on Thursday in a Valley Conference boys basketball game.
Hayden Jones led the Blackhawks with 17 points. Josiah DeMaris added 16 points and Tate Becker added 10 points.
Madelia (3-3, 3-1) will play at Granada-Huntley/East Chain/Martin Luther/Truman on Tuesday.
GIRLS HOCKEY
New Ulm 3, Minnesota River 1
New Ulm downed Minnesota River 3-1 Thursday in a Big South Conference girls hockey game.
Mya Hornick, Madelynn Olson and Brogan Hulke all scored goals for the Eagles, with Afton Hulke picking up three assists and Malorie Anderson got one assist.
New Ulm (5-5, 4-2) travels to play River Lakes on Saturday.
