On Sunday, July 9, Ethan Schmidt competed in a U.S. Kids Golf Tournament (10-year-old age group) at Purple Hawk Country Club in Cambridge, Minnesota, playing out of the Minneapolis Local Summer Tour. Schmidt took third place, shooting a +2 (38) finishing with seven pars and two bogeys.
On Friday, July 14, Schmidt competed in a 10- to 12-year-old Minnesota Junior Golf Prep Tour Tournament at New Hope Village Golf Course in New Hope, Minnesota. Schmidt took first place, shooting a +1 (28) this was a par-3 course set-up. Schmidt made eight pars and one bogey on the day.
