MOUND -- New Ulm took down Mound Westonka 9-3 in eight innings on Friday in a nonconference baseball game at Mound Westonka High School.
The Eagles broke a 3-3 tie with six runs in the eighth inning.
Blaine Olson picked up the win on the mound with 4 1/3 innings pitched, three strikouts and three walks. At the plate, New Ulm was led by Ethan Thompson, who went 2 for 4 with three RBIs and a walk. Ayden Jensen and Graham Glaser each had a pair of hits in four at bats as well.
New Ulm (1-0) will take on Waseca at home on Tuesday.
