MANKATO — The Bethany Lutheran College Vikings rolled to a 20-0 shutout over the Martin Luther College Knights in seven innings Wednesday in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference baseball game at ISG Field.

The game was listed as a home game for the Knights and played in Mankato due to their home field in New Ulm not being fully available yet.

Eli Fest moved to 2-0 on the season for the Vikings, pitching five innings and surrendering four hits and a walk while striking out seven.

Carter Seltz took the loss on the mound for the Knights in 2 2/3 innings of work, giving up six hits and four walks for six earned runs. He struck out three.

The Vikings collected 17 hits off the Knights and held MLC to five hits. MLC also committed four errors to BLC’s one.

Spencer Lilienthal was 1 for 2 at the plate with two walks to lead MLC, while Caleb Heckendorf added a double.

Matt Verdugo was 3 for 5 with two RBIs to lead BLC at the plate, while Reed Brown homered and drove in four runs.

The Knights (3-9, 0-4) will play a doubleheader at North Central on Sunday.
