Tim Orth Foundation All Jamboree event this Friday at GFW

WINTHROP — The annual Tim Orth Foundation All Jamboree boys and girls basketball games will be held this Friday at Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop High School in Winthrop, with approximately 60 players from both the Tomahawk and Red Rock Conference competing.

The All Jamboree teams consist of players from both conferences and the games are held in conjunction with the Tim Orth Memorial Foundation’s annual event.

The girls game will take place first at 6 p.m. and will be followed by the boys game. Doors open at 5 p.m. Prior to the game, players, mascots and Orth recipients will be gathered for group pictures at 5:30 p.m.

Profits from the event will be given to individuals with major medical expenses that have been chosen by the Tim Orth Foundation. This year’s recipient for the Winthrop event will be Adasyn Fairbairn, daughter of Jason and Tricia Fairbairn of New Ulm. Adasyn was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in January of 2022.

Tickets cost $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and $8 for students.

There will also be a 3-point contest before the games, with a plaque for each boy and girl winner. Professional mascots will also be in attendance, including the “Bear” from the Utah Jazz, as well as the Utah Jazz Dunk Team. Returning this year is the F-M Acro team doing gymnastics. Bango from the Bucks will also be joining the event, along with Greg Mueller and the Rim Rockers.

Concessions will be served all night for the event.
