Crown holds off MLC men with 2-1 win

NEW ULM -- Crown College held off Martin Luther College for a 2-1 win on Wednesday evening in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference men's soccer game.

All goals were scored in the first half, with Crown (2-8-2, 2-3-2) getting on the board in the second minute on a goal by Tim Jaeger. In the 32nd minute, Crown upped its lead to 2-0 on a goal from Pedro Silveira.

The Knights (1-9-1, 0-6-0) got on the board in the 45th minute on a goal from Nathan Pausma.

MLC outshot Crown 17-11 overall, while Crown had a 7-6 shots-on-goal advantage.

Knights goalie Adam Rosenbaum made five saves.

MLC hosts Minnesota Morris in a homecoming game Saturday.
