EDGERTON -- Cedar Mountain topped Edgerton 20-8 on Friday night in a 9-man, South District football game.
Cooper Freitag was 12 of 18 for 192 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Cougars. He also rushed for 77 yards on 23 carries. Maverick Weber also had 44 yards rushing on nine carries, while Brannden Pendleton had nine catches for 103 yards and a TD. Lane Guggisberg had two catches for 77 yards, both going for TDs.
Weber also led the Cougars on defense with nine total tackles, while Jaxson Kerkhoff had 7 1/2 tackles and Christian Belcher had 5 1/2 tackles and an interception.
Cedar Mountain is at Lyle-Pacelli for a 3 p.m. game on Sept. 17.
MCC 44, Wabasso 20
WABASSO -- Murray County Central downed Wabasso 44-20 on Friday night in a Southwest District football game.
Quarterback Adryen Tietz scored three touchdowns in the second half to lead the Rabbits. His first TD came on a 71-yard punt return, while he had two TD runs in the fourth quarter of 5 and 27 yards.
He finished with four carries for 51 yards, while Calvin Hanna added 35 yards rushing on 11 carries. Tietz and Zeke Olson led the Wabasso defense with 7 1/2 tackles each, while Mason Kampsen added 6 1/2 tackles.
Wabasso is at Springfield next on Friday.

WORTHINGTON -- New Ulm downed Worthington 9-0 on Thursday night in a Big South Conference girls soccer game.
Cadence Okerman, Bryn Nesvold and Kaelyn Eikanger each had two goals to lead New Ulm, while Megan Hames, Addison Rustin and Anna Kramer each had a goal. Okerman also assisted on both of Nesvold's goals, while Piper Kapolczynski had two assists.
New Ulm hosts Mankato Loyola on Tuesday.
