The Tomahawk Conference released its Tomahawk All-Conference Softball Team on Friday, with New Ulm Cathedral's Emily Schommer leading the way as the conference's Player of the Year.
Joining Schommer on the All-Conference team were teammates Jenna Hotovec and Megan Haala, while Sleepy Eye St. Mary's saw Julia Helget, Maya Nelson, Kya Krzmarzick and Kallie Zarn make the team. All were unanimous selections.
Also making the team as unanimous selections were Wabasso's Callie Burns and Sophia Hanna, Springfield's Brooklyn Sturm, Megan Ploeger, Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart's Emilie Hable, Minnesota Valley Lutheran's Becca Kuck, Sleepy Eye Public's Emma Schieffert and Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop's Brooklyn Werner. Wabasso's Avery Carlson and BLHS's Alex Maiers also made the team.
Being named Honorable Mention were Cathedral's Kiah Helget, Lily Brennan and Lily Franta, St. Marys' Lacey Mathiowetz and Alison Labat, Springfield's Maddy Digmann, Jalivia Richert and Jaeli Richert, BLHS's Leslie Rodriguez, MVL's Samantha Dalueg and Sleepy Eye Public's Brooke Arneson.
The Coach of the Year in the conference was Cathedral's Jamie Kuehn. Cathedral won the Tomahawk Conference title this year with a 13-1 conference record.
