TRUMAN -- Sleepy Eye toppled Granada Huntley/East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther on Tuesday in a nonconference baseball game.

Arian Saenz earned the win. He pitched four innings, he gave up three hits on two runs, he walked four batters and he struck out eight batters. He went 3 for 4 from the plate with three RBIs. Austin Uecker was 2 for 5 with four RBIs.

Sleepy Eye (9-4) will play at Wabasso on Thursday

SESM 7, MCW 3

SLEEPY EYE -- Sleepy Eye St. Mary's defeated Martin County West on Tuesday in a nonconference baseball game.

Jacob Stevens earned the win. He pitched five innings, he gave up no runs on three hits, he struck out four and he walked five batters. Talan Helget in relief went two innings. He gave up three runs on five hits, and he walked two batters.

Carson Domeier went 2 for 3 with a double, a home run and three RBIs. Jon Petermann went 2 for 4 with an RBI and Kaleb Wait was 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI.

Cleveland 7, Madelia 6, 8 inn.

CLEVELAND -- Cleveland edged Madelai on Tuesday in a Valley Conference baseball game.

Blake Altenburg went 1 for 5 with a double and two runs scored. Eric Anderson went 2 for 5 with a triple and a run scored. Dylan Grev was 1for 5 with a triple and two RBIs.

Jake Lehman took the loss. He pitched 2 and 2/3 innings, he gave up four hits, four runs(two earned), he walked two and he struck out four.

Madelia will host Mankato Loyola on Thursday.

Nicollet 8, Cathedral 3

Nicollet 2, Belle Plaine 1

NICOLLET -- Nicollet won a pair of nonconference softball games on Tuesday, first defeating New Ulm Cathedral 8-3 before topping Belle Plaine 2-1.

In the win over Cathedral, Marah Hulke got the win in seven innings, giving up two earned runs on five hits while striking out 14. She was also 2 for 2 with a triple and an RBI, while Olivia Whitmore and Brooklyn Bode each had two hits.

For Cathedral, Emily Guggisberg had two hits and Jenna Hotovec had two RBIs. Megan Haala pitched all seven innings for Cathedral in the loss.

In the win over Belle Plaine, Hayley Selby got the win for the Raiders in all seven innings, giving up one earned run on five walks and five hits while striking out eight.

At the plate against Belle Plaine, Nicollet was led by Hulke, who was 3 for 3 with a homer and two RBIs. Sam Kettner also was 2 for 3 with a double for the Raiders.

Nicollet hosts Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial on Thursday, while Cathedral hosts Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Friday.

New Ulm 5, St. Peter 4

ST. PETER -- New Ulm defeated St. Peter on Tuesday in a Big South Conference softball game.

Maddi O'Connor was 2 for 4 with a run scored aond a stolen base. Emma Brudelie went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. Amber Lee was 1 for 3 with a double and two RBIs. Miranda Suess went 2 for 3 with a sacrifice bunt.

Ramsey Hopp was the winning pitcher. She pitched seven innings, she gave up four hits and she struck out five batters.

New Ulm (11-3) will host Waseca on Thursday.

Cleveland 12, Madelia 7

MADELIA -- Cleveland topped Madelia 12-7 on Tuesday in a prep softball game.

Corban Tatro took the loss for Madelia in all seven innings, giving up 13 hits for six earned runs while striking out 10. At the plate, Kellie Koberoski was 3 for 3 with a walk and a run scored for Madelia, while Tatro, Abby Jacobs, Veronica Ibeling and Alicia Lugo each had two hits.

Madelia (4-12) is at Glenville on Friday.

St. Mary's 12, MCW 6

SLEEPY EYE -- Sleepy Eye St. Mary's downed Martin County West 12-6 on Tuesday in a nonconference softball game.

Lacey Mathiowetz got the win for the Knights, giving up five hits and five walks while striking out five. Addie Hoffmann was 2 for 2 with a homer and three RBIs for the Knights, while Madline Hose was 3 for 4 with four RBIs and Kallie Zarn and Julia Helget was 2 for 3 with an RBI each.

The Knights (10-4) are at Gibbon-Faircax-Winthrop on Thursday.

SLEEPY EYE -- Sleepy Eye edged Granada Huntley/East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther on Tuesday in a nonconference softball contest.

Taylor Berkner went 3 for 4 with one run scored. Emma Schieffert was 1 for 2 with an RBI and one run scored. Brooke Arneson was 2 for 4 with two runs scored. Brissa Hernandez went 2 for 4 with two doubles and a run scored.

Sleepy Eye will host Wabasso on Thursday.

SANBORN -- The Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop boys' golf team won in a triangular Tomahawk Conference golf meet on Tuesday at the Farmers Golf and Health Club .

Wabasso was the only complete team in the girls' meet.

Sawyer Melberg of BLHS was the boys' medalist with a score of 48. GFW's Nate TenEyck shot a 51 and Carter Sabo carded a 52. Alex Miret-Alvarez of Wabasso had a 50 and Aidan Lanoue had a 51.

GFW's Jenna Schweiss was the girls' medalist with a score of 57.
