MANKATO -- Sleepy Eye St. Mary's defeated Madelia 79-65 on Saturday night in a nonconference boys' basketball game at Bethany Lutheran College.
The Knights were led by Trent Steffensmeier's 29 points, six rebounds and six assists, while Carson Domeier added 19 points, eight assists and six rebounds. Also for the Knights, Kaleb Wait had 15 points and six rebounds, while Will Walter added 12 points.
Ja'Sean Glover led Madelia with 33 points and 14 rebounds, while Blake Altenburg had 16 points,
St. Mary's (16-2) hosts Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther on Monday, while Madelia (5-7) hosts Cleveland on Monday.

MANKATO -- Sleepy Eye earned its second consecutive win after beating Cleveland 63-52 on Saturday in a nonconference boys' basketball game at Bethany Lutheran College.
Marcus Martinez led the Indians with 21 points and five rebounds, while Erizen Traconia had 13 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and four steals.
The Indians (3-14) host Wabasso on Monday.

NUA dominates at
HighWater Ethanol Invite
LAMBERTON -- New Ulm Area turned in a dominant day of wrestling at the HighWater Ethanol Invie on Friday, finishing first with a team score of 236.5.
Ten teams competed at the Invite.
Taking first for NUA on the day were Logan Lee (126), Winsten Nienhaus (132), Marqavian Haefner (138), Dylen Carreon (195) and Jaden Drill (285). Tegan Kral (113) and Julian Hernandez (220) finished second for NUA, while Elijah Rieser (120), Ryan Wiltscheck (160) and Ty Frederick (170) finished third.
Lee defeated Red Rock Central's Evan Bartholomaus by a 13-0 major decision in the first-place match at 120, while Nienhaus downed RRC's Zak Zimmermann by a 14-2 major decision in the first-place match at 132. Haefner pinned Le Sueur-Henderson's Jordan Grinde in 5:41 in the first-place match at 138, while Carreon got an 8-5 decision over Parker Bothun of Dawson Boyd-Lac Qui Parle-Montevideo United in the first-place match at 195. Drill defeated Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg's Jason Jones by a 6-0 decision in the first-place match at heavyweight.
