New Ulm tops Sartell-Sauk Rapids
SARTELL — New Ulm defeated Sartell-Sauk Rapids 4-2 on Tuesday at Bernick’s Arena in a nonconference girls’ hockey game.
New Ulm had a goal in each of the first two periods before adding two more in the third period. Sartell scored both of their goals in the third period.
Michelle Smith scored New Ulm’s first two goals, with her second being assisted by Julia Helget. Smith also had two assists, while Helget scored New Ulm’s third goal. Maddi O’Connor added New Ulm’s final foal at 16:31 in the third.
Ava Brennan got the win in net with 18 saves.
New Ulm, now 11-1 on the year, continues play at the Sartell Invitational on Wednesday when it takes on St. Cloud.
