LAKE CRYSTAL -- New Ulm VFW Silver defeated Lake Crystal VFW 15-12 on Wednesday in VFW baseball action.
Kaden Wilson went 3 for 3 for Silver with four runs scored, while Parker Kamm was 2 for 4 and drove in three RBIs. Also for Silver, Logan Mielke was 2 for 5 with two RBIs, Adam Wiltscheck was 2 for 2 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs, and Kaden Larson had two hits and four stolen bases.
Blaine Olson picked up the two-inning save in relief.

Essig 11, Searles 1, 8 innings
ESSIG -- Essig downed Searles 11-1 in eight innings of Tomahawk East League amateur baseball action.
Essig was led by Jay Helget, who was 3 for 6 with four RBIs. Hunter Sehr and Nick Stadick each had two hits for Essig also while Erich Prokosch had a homer.
Sam Hansen got the win in eight innings, giving up seven hits and a walk with one strikeout.
Searles got two hits from Alex Lund, while Michael Schlottman took the loss in five innings, giving up 10 unearned runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out four.
