Sleepy Eye 9, St. Mary's 0
SLEEPY EYE -- Sleepy Eye Public shut out Sleepy Eye St. Mary's 9-0 on Friday in Tomahawk Conference baseball action.
The Indians' Jackson Huiras got the complete-game win, giving up three hits, no walks and fanning six. At the plate for Sleepy Eye, Mason Sellner was 4 for 4 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored, while Kadon Strong was 3 for 3 with four RBIs, two runs scored and a homer.
Spencer Hoffman took the loss on the mound for the Knights, pitching five innings and giving up seven earned runs on 10 hits and three walks while striking out one. Hoffman, Patrick Hoffmann and Jacob Lux each had a hit for the Knights.
Sleepy Eye is at Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Monday, while the Knights host Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Monday.

Benilde-St. Margaret’s 6, New Ulm 4
NORTH MANKATO -- Benilde-St. Margaret’s edged New Ulm 6-4 on Friday evening in a nonconference softball game at Caswell Park.
Miranda Suess took the complete-game loss for the Eagles, giving up eight hits and a walk for two earned runs while fanning three.
Anna Lee went 2 for 3 at the plate to lead the Eagles with an RBI and two stolen bases, while Maddi O'Connor was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored and Ella Friederich was 1 for 3 with two RBIs and a stolen base.
The Eagles play again at Caswell on Saturday, May 8, starting with an 11 a.m. game against Winona Cotter before finishing the day with a 1 p.m. game against Austin.
GFW 11, Sibley East 6
WINTHROP -- Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop defeated Sibley East 11-6 on Friday in a nonconference softball game.
Brooklyn Werner got the complete-game win in the circle for GFW, giving up six earned runs on 15 hits and a walk while striking out seven. Rylee Sabo was 4 for 4 with two RBIs at the plate for GFW, while Jaedan Nachreiner was 3 for 4 with four RBIs. Baleigh Peterson, Maddy Nachreiner, Tiana Clobes, Hana Schroeder and Morgan Aylsworth all each had two hits for GFW.

Madelia boys take 2nd at home meet
MADELIA -- The Madelia boys' golf team finished second (407) on Friday in a home meet against Tri-City Unied (387) and Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial/Nicollet (428).
The Madelia girls finished with a team score of 517, but both the LCWM/Nicollet and TCU girls' teams were incomplete.
Leading the way for the Madelia boys was Colin Wihlm, who shot an 86, Colby Wilhm (107) and Collin Tierney (108).
For the Madelia girls, Savannah Wyman led the way with a 109, while Katie Bocock shot a 125.

Cathedral 9, GFW 8, 8 innings
FAIRFAX -- New Ulm Cathedral defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop in a Tomahawk Conference baseball game on Thursday.
Carter Haala earned the win for Cathedral and he went the distance, striking out two.
Ike Case scored three runs for the Thunderbirds.
Isaiah Rieser scored two runs and had two hits for the Greyhounds. Sam Knowles had three hits.
