Offensive Team
Dominic Henrichs, RB, Sr., GFW
Henrichs led the Thunderbirds on the ground with 1,062 yards rushing and 13 TDs on just 75 carries, for an average of 14.2 yards per carry. He also had 202 kick return yards for GFW.
Nick Marotzke, RB, Sr., Wabasso
Marotzke had 935 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns for the Rabbits this season for an average of 6.8 yards per carry. This year’s Southwest District, East Subdistrict MVP finished his career with 2,173 yards rushing.
Cole Ranweiler, RB, Sr., NUHS
Ranweiler rushed for 919 yards and seven TDs in six games for the Eagles during his senior campaign and was named the South Central District Offensive Back of the Year. As a two-year starting running back, he rushed for 2,200 yards and 20 TDs.
Kadin Johnson, RB, Sr., Springfield
Johnson rushed for 1,073 yards on 9.7 yards per carry during his senior campaign with the Tigers. He also scored eight TDs.
Luke Thompson, QB, Jr., MVL
Thompson threw for 1,453 yards and 16 TDs this year for the Chargers. He was 75 of 125 passing, throwing for two 2-point conversions and seven interceptions. He also rushed for 534 yards and four TDs on 84 carries.
Nate Duis, QB, Sr., Nicollet
Duis completed 130 of 255 passes for 1,405 yards, 17 TDs and nine interceptions. He also had 128 carries for 636 yards and six TDs. The first-year starter at QB was also named an all-district player in 2020.
Carter Benz, QB, Sr., Wabasso
Benz completed 72 of 130 passes for 1,138 yards and 10 TDs for the Rabbits during his senior year, with four interceptions. He also carried the ball 31 times for 196 yards and six touchdowns. The three-year starter finished his career passing for 3,416 yards and 30 TDs.
Jordan Toll, WR, Sr.,
Springfield
Toll had 27 catches for 439 yards this season for the Tigers, an average of 16.3 yards per catch. In seven games, he also recorded eight touchdowns.
Shane Stevensen, WR, Sr., Nicollet
Stevensen, a two-year starter on offense, ended his senior year with 47 catches for 439 yards and 10 TDs. He also had three 2-point conversions.
Cade Schiller, QB, Sr., CM
In three games with the Cougars, Schiller completed 59 of 88 passes for 672 yards, eight TDs and four interceptions. He also rushed for 84 yards and two TDs on 21 carries. Schiller finished his career with 2,476 yards passing, 19 touchdown passes and six rushing touchdowns.
Will Carlson, WR, Sr., Wabasso
Carlson had 27 receptions for 454 yards and three touchdowns in his senior year with the Rabbits. He also finished his career with a school-record 104 catches and averaged more than 16 yards per catch.

Defensive Team
Caleb Hauger, MLB, Jr.,
Springfield
Hauger was one of the state’s top tacklers this season for the Tigers, piling up 96 tackles in eight games. He was also the Tigers’ leading tackler on special teams.
Sam Knowles, DE, Jr., New Ulm Cathedral
The 6-5 defensive end had 47 solo tackles and 29 assists for the Greyhounds in his junior campaign. Knowles also forced one fumble, had one sack and blocked a pass during a 4-3 season and a third-place finish in Section 2A.
Hunter Taylor, OLB, Sr., Wabasso
Taylor had 54 tackles for the Rabbits during his senior campaign. He also had 5.5 sacks, 7.5 tackles for a loss and a fumble recovery for a TD.
Tyler Laven, DL, Sr., Nicollet
Laven had 85 total tackles (36 solos) for the Raiders during his senior campaign. He also had five sacks and a fumble recovery.
Austin Gieseke, DL, Sr.,
Nicollet
Gieseke was an honorable mention in the district this year and had 67 total tackles and 10 sacks. He also had a fumble recovery in 2020.
Kadon Strong, DE, Sr.,
Sleepy Eye
After tearing his ACL in the first game of the 2019 season, Strong returned in 2020 to lead the Indians’ defense in total tackles with 20 solo tackles and 38 assists. The all-district player also had five sacks and four tackles for a loss.
Jason Berberich, DT, Sr., Springfield
Berberich was the leader on the Tigers’ line this season and finished second on the team in tackles. Despite facing a consistent double-team, he finished with 68 total tackles.
Cole Thompson, DB, So., MVL
Thompson piled up 61 total tackles this season for the Chargers during his sophomore campaign. He also had three interceptions, two fumble recoveries and forced five fumbles.
David Santelman, DE, Jr., MVL
Santelman helped lead the MVL defense this season with 44 tackles. He also had four sacks and two fumble recoveries.
Colby Wall, S, Sr., Wabasso
The safety had four interceptions this season for the Rabbits after having eight a season ago, which tied him for second in the state. He ends his career with 12 total interceptions.
Riley Mans, DB, Sr., Nicollet
Mans had 35 total tackles, four interceptions and two fumble recoveries this year for the Raiders. He ended his career with 84 total tackles and six interceptions.
