MLC falls to UW-Stout in women’s tennis
OWATONNA — The Martin Luther College women’s tennis team entered Spring Break with an 8-1 defeat to UW-Stout at Owatonna Tennis Center on Friday.
The Knights fell behind 3-0 in doubles to open the match. Anna Hemmelman and Ella Loersch lost 8-4 in No. 1 doubles, while McKenzey Crowley and Faith Struemke lost 8-5 in No. 2 doubles.
Hemmelman was responsible for the team’s lone point thanks to a 6-4, 6-3 win in No. 1 singles. Stout won the other four singles matches in straight sets.
MLC fell to 1-3 on the season in defeat. UW-Stout improved to 1-10 with the win.
The Knights will return to action after Spring Break when they open Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action at North Central on March 20 at Lifetime Fitness Center.
