MLC men, women both fall to UW-Superior

Men’s basketball
UW-Superior 83, MLC 59
SUPERIOR, Wis. — The Martin Luther College men’s basketball team lost 83-59 at UW-Superior on Saturday.
The Knights (5-18, 2-13) shot 50.9% from the field for the game, but fell short in several key statistics in defeat.
Ethan Eisenmann paced MLC with 17 points on 8-of-9 shooting. Ian Paulsen added 15 points, while Austin DeNoyer and Jack Heichelbech scored 9 and 8 points, respectively.
Women’s basketball
UW-Superior 81, MLC 43
SUPERIOR, Wis. — The Martin Luther College women’s basketball team was unable to slow down UW-Superior once it got going in an 81-43 loss on Saturday.
UWS finished the game shooting 44.3 percent from the field and shot a scorching 63.2 percent in the second quarter to turn the game in its favor. The Yellowjackets also shot 7 of 22 from beyond the 3-point line and turned 21 MLC (3-20, 3-12) turnovers into 27 points on the other end.
MLC was unable to get going on the offensive end, shooting 26.9% overall and making only 2 of 13 attempts from downtown.
Cassandra Rose led the Knights with 11 points. Kortney Behnke finished with a team-high eight rebounds.
