New Ulm 6, Fergus Falls 0
FERGUS FALLS -- The New Ulm boys' hockey team opened its time in the Fergus Falls Holiday Classic on Thursday with a 6-0 shutout win over Fergus Falls at the Fergus Falls Ice Arena.
Joey Gag made 32 saves in net for New Ulm.
Teddy Giefer got New Ulm on the board first at 8:36 into the first period before Braxten Hoffmann scored to put the Eagles up 2-0 at 14:36 into the first period.
Nolan Drill, Hunter Hulke and each had a second-period goal to put the Eagles up 4-0 after two periods before Kyden Wenisch and Glavine Schugel each had a goal in the third period for the final.
Ethan O'Connor had two helpers for New Ulm, while Schugel, Giefer, Wenisch, AJ Arneson, Keagan Schiro, and Josh Gulden all added an assist apiece.
The Eagles (7-2) continue play at the Holiday Classic at 2:30 p.m. Friday when they take on Detroit Lakes.

St. Cloud 2, New Ulm 1
SARTELL -- A second-period goal by Tayor Holm was enough to lift St. Cloud past New Ulm 2-1 at the Sartell/Sauk Rapids Invite on Thursday at Bernick's Arena.
Trailing 1-0 after a late first-period goal by Katherine Bell, New Ulm got a power-play goal by Brooke Arneson on an assist from McKenna Strong minutes later to tie things at 1-all. Holm's goal at 5:31 into the second period broke the tie, however, and lifted St. Cloud to the win.
Ava Brennan made 16 saves in the loss for New Ulm.
New Ulm takes on Fargo North at noon on Friday as the Sartell/Sauk Rapids Invite continues.
