WABASSO — Minneota swept Wabasso 25-12, 25-9, 25-17 in a nonconference volleyball match on Tuesday.
Cora Eichten led Wabasso with six kills and Bella Brand and Kelsey Frank each had eight digs.
Frank and Avery Carlson each had eight set assists for the Rabbits (0-1).
Wabasso hosts Cedar Mountain on Thursday, Sept. 5.
GFW 3, Sibley East 0
ARLINGTON — Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop swept Sibley East 25-10, 25-23, 25-12 on Tuesday in a nonconference volleyball match.
Hannah Panitzke led GFW with 10 kills and 14 digs. Also for GFW, Shelby Ramirez had 12 kills, Katy Lee had 16 digs, Julie Schweiss had six blocks and Brynn Busse had 22 assists.
For Sibley East, McKenna Kranz had 14 set assists and Hannah Ebert had 12 digs. Maddi Tuchtenhagen had four kills. Ellie Harens had five kills. Alexia Sommers had four kills, four digs and three blocks.
GFW plays at 7 p.m. on Thursday at St. Clair.
Sibley East (0-1) is at Glencoe-Silver Lake on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
Sleepy Eye 3, Loyola 1
MANKATO — Sleepy Eye defeated Mankato Loyola 25-18,25-23, 20-25, 25-13 on Tuesday in a nonconference volleyball match.
Alexa Steffl and Brittney Dittbenner led the Indians with 12 kills. Dittbenner also had 15 digs. Also for Sleepy Eye, McKenna Strong had nine kills and two blocks and Sandy Flores had 25 set assists and 23 digs.
Sleepy Eye (2-0) plays at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s.
RRC 3, Springfield 0
SPRINGFIELD — Red Rock Central swept Springfield 25-23, 25-20, 25-10 on Tuesday in a nonconference volleyball match.
Springfield was led by Cylee Graff, who had eight kills, six digs and one ace. Also for Springfield, Courtney Wendt had 16 digs, three blocks and one ace, Eva Mark had 19 set assists and five digs, Meriah Kirschstein had five kills, four digs and one ace and Mya Mickelson had three aces.
Springfield (0-1) plays at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Westbrook/Walnut Grove.
Prep cross-country
MANKATO — Minnesota Valley Lutheran competed at the Mankato East country-country meet on Tuesday.
The MVL boys finished fifth with 134 points. Caleb Carlovsky finished 19th overall in 20:53 and Mitchell Ulrich was 22nd in 21:33.
Springfield-Cedar Mountain’s Mitchell Buerkle was third in 17:38 and Sibley East’s Jose Nevarez was ninth in 18:57.
On the girls’ side, MVL’s Abby Nelson was sixth overall in 21:55. Naomi Anderson was 24th overall in 24:52.
S-CM’s Miranda Groebner was 18th overall in 23:32.
