To the editor: Alzheimer’s disease is a devastating condition that affects millions of Americans, both directly and indirectly, by placing an enormous emotional and financial burden on individuals and families. This is particularly hard for those of us who have relatives in Greater Minnesota, where needed services may be a long drive away. I know firsthand how difficult it was for my mom to even get a diagnosis. My mother was diagnosed with Early-On Set Alzheimer’s at the age of 57 in 2015. To the editor: Like many of you, I was saddened to learn of the passing of Smiley Wiltscheck.  A big thank you to the New Ulm Journal for acknowledging and recognizing his musical legacy. Automatic voter registration begins

To the editor: Automatic voter registration (AVR) has now begun in Minnesota. AVR provides an opportunity to register to vote when applying for a driver’s license and is another secure way of registering to vote. You can also register at the Brown County Auditor/Treasurer’s Office, online at the Secretary of State’s web site https://mnvotes.gov/register or at your polling place on Election Day. Pay attention to the words

To the Editor: The former President has many annoying habits, not the least of which is saying things that are simply false, and he expects the audience to nod their heads and not question any of the words’ validity. One of his favorites is the indefinite pronoun “everybody.” For instance, he’ll say, “Everybody knows the trial is a sham, rigged, a witch hunt.” Everybody? No, not everybody.
