A smorgasbord of lies

To the editor:

It’s a well-known fact that the former President is covetous of attention, and the truth needn’t get in his way of taking credit for anything and everything that could elevate him in his supporters’ eyes. Remember John F. Kennedy’s famous quote: “Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.”

I consider it completely within the realm of possibility that the former president would take this iconic quote, make a few alterations, and prostitute it to lend a whiff of credibility to one of his newest lies:

…Ask not what Kamala Harris can do for you; ask what household pets are being eaten by illegal Haitian immigrants…

It’s jaw-droppingly absurd! I sat in front of my television in disbelief to hear such a stupid accusation. Somewhere in MAGA-land, however, some of his overzealous posse were instantly being mobilized to do their worst.

This is just one example of the former President’s blatant lies. While he revels in creating this fictitious, alternative world in which he can solve every problem, there are actual, real-world consequences for innocent people being targeted by the lies.

The Haitians are in Springfield, Ohio, legally. They are working. They are not eating pets.

The fallout from the lie…Haitians feel they’d be safer back in crime-ridden Haiti. There are bomb threats. His VP candidate keeps the dangerous lie alive. This is sick. This is the third-world version of America that the founder of a third-class social media platform wants to purport.

The repository of lies was quickly prepared for distribution as the former President desperately had to distract everyone on both sides. Reluctant Republicans accepted Kamala’s debate victory. The Democrats celebrated the win.

Therefore, the former President had to go full throttle on his lies to put himself front and center lest his followers could hear that he’d lost the debate. (Please read James 3:1-12.)

He lost. (Just listen to Karl Rove.)

He’s a loser. (Just ask people whom he endorses.)

He’s losing. (Check the numbers.)

He’s losing it (Listen.)
