Time to change direction

To the editor:

Last year there was a large gathering at Donald Trump’s estate in Florida. There was a man in attendance there who was less than joyful. Donald Trump asked him why he was looking so sad. The man replied that he felt so insignificant, being in the room with the most popular man on earth. Trump replied to the man that he was in error, because Jesus Christ is the most popular man on earth. Now does that sound like something Adolf Hitler would say? After all, the talking heads on CNN and MSNBC have been equating Donald Trump to Hitler for eight years now.

Proverbs 30:33 states For as churning cream produces butter, and as twisting the nose produces blood, so stirring up anger produces strife.” Don’t you suppose that this kind of rhetoric could have led the perpetrator who tried to assassinate Donald Trump to do such a thing. God only knows. But God also knows that a nation divided cannot stand. Speaking of stand, I sure could stand for a change in the direction this nation of ours is going. Where has common sense gone? Are we so dull we can’t see that a nation who puts God on the back burner will certainly fail. It’s not too late for our country to change direction.
