Take back the government
To the editor:
Can anyone point to the date and time when we the people turned all of our personal responsibilities and moral standards over to the few that occupy the seats in our once great capitol in St Paul? Are we expected to just succumb to the standards, rules and regulations set by legislated laws and dictates? How did we get so disconnected from a government by the people for the people into becoming mere subjects of the government? Weren’t our elected Legislators and Senators supposed to “represent” the people and protect our “individual” God given Constitutional rights?
I don’t recall giving my consent that allows our elected officials and unelected bureaucrats to take any of my rights away nor did I consent to allow them to give any “special” rights that I don’t possess and give them to another individual. Also, I didn’t consent to them taking my money and redistributing it in the name of compassion, benevolence or charity. That is my choice to make. Our constitutional republican form of government was designed to bring about an ordered society by following the principles explicitly expressed with limitations in the Constitution. Isn’t this what we should expect? Is his what we are getting? Robberies, murder, riots and property destruction have become almost everyday occurrences in our society, so I don’t believe they are doing so well.
If this must change, the average citizen has to take on the responsibility as is our duty and take back ownership of this State and our country. The first three words of our Constitution are “We the People” not they the government.
Take an active role by getting involved in whatever way works for you by joining your local County BPOU (Basic Political Organizational Unit), attend caucuses, conventions, town hall meetings etc. Become familiar with the people that are elected to represent you. Know who they are. You need to interview them, you are paying their salaries, they are your employee. You are the boss.
